J Rawls – “Rio”

I think I’ve found my summer song of ’14. You can have your “Blurred Lines” and “Call me Maybes”. I’ll take J Rawls’s “Rio”.

Reppin out of Columbus Ohio, J Rawls released this single off his recent release, “The Legacy”. I discovered him while he was playing Selecta’s Choice, in Cincinnati. I went to Underground Hip Hop’s website, and his album is already sold out. Looks like J Rawls is doing something right.

Check out this clip above. J Rawls is doing some story-telling on this track. As he says on Youtube, Rio “tells the story of a producers dream. Digging in a record store to find a PYT digging along side him.”

I got one question though. Is it me or does J Rawls remind me of a fast-flowing Gift of Gab by Blackalicious?
